DexCom G7 Receiver

The new Dexcom G7 receiver is optional, so patients don't have to buy the receiver if they use their compatible smartphone for their screen of choice. If patients want a receiver as an alternative to view the information, they will have to buy the newly redesigned G7 receiver.

The Dexcom G7 sensor can be worn for 10 days with a 12-hour grace period.

An adhesive patch holds the CGM sensor housing in place, allowing the sensor to continuously measure glucose readings in interstitial fluid throughout the day and night. The small reusable transmitter attaches to the sensor wire and broadcasts live readings wirelessly to the receiver then displays the glucose information for the user.

Medicare requires patients to use the receiver. For all other payers, the patient can select which device to receive their numbers on. Users may also view their numbers on the phone and the receiver if preferred.

You are not required to calibrate your Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring system. However, you can record a BG meter value as an event or use a BG meter value to calibrate through the G7 App on your smart device or directly on the receiver.

To download data from a Dexcom G7 receiver, you'll need to follow a few simple steps. First, connect the receiver to your computer using a USB cable. Then, visit the Dexcom Clarity website and log in to your account. From there, you can sync your device by selecting the “Download” option and following the prompts. Make sure to install any required software for compatibility with your computer. After syncing, the data will be available for viewing and analysis, providing valuable insights into your glucose levels over time. You can also export the data for personal use or share it with healthcare providers.
